In cats, a condition known as tooth resorption occurs when the cat’s body begins to dismantle and assimilate the components of a tooth. This process is initiated by the activity of “odontoclast” cells, which target and break down healthy teeth. While this condition can impact any tooth, it is most frequently observed in the mandibular premolars, the teeth located in the lower cheek area.
